Bermuda Rowing Association offers an exciting way to experience Bermuda’s beautiful waterways while learning, practicing, and enjoying the sport of rowing in a friendly and supportive community. Based in Devonshire, the association welcomes both newcomers and experienced rowers, providing opportunities to learn sculling, develop rowing skills, participate in coached practices, and enjoy independent rowing for qualified members.
The association’s boats are based on White’s Island, with members meeting at the Royal Hamilton Amateur Dinghy Club dock before being transported to the island by safety boat. From there, rowers can explore scenic waterways around Paradise Lakes, Harbour Road, Front Street, Fairylands, and Spanish Point, creating a truly memorable experience surrounded by Bermuda’s spectacular coastal scenery.
Bermuda Rowing Association places strong emphasis on technique, safety, fitness, teamwork, and camaraderie. Beginners do not need previous rowing experience, and the organization offers programs designed to introduce newcomers to the sport. The association also supports experienced athletes through coached and independent sculling opportunities.
Beyond the physical activity, rowing is an important part of the association’s social culture. Members regularly participate in gatherings, celebrations, regattas, and other community activities, making it an excellent choice for people looking to combine outdoor recreation with friendship and teamwork.
