Training and Lodging Center “Simona Esmeralda Féliz Alcántara”
 Our Rural Hostel welcomes backpacker visitors mainly, but also national Dominican visitors. The accommodation presented is part of a community development project linked to nature tourism, respect for biodiversity, ecotourism, adventure tourism, agrotourism and rural tourism development.
It starts with the main objective of recovering the activity of the old “Simona Esmeralda Féliz Alcántara” Training and Lodging Center that was inaugurated in 2004, and to this end, its team works to attract national and foreign visitors to the community. rural Polo – Barahona, and that their visits result in extra income for the inhabitants that is complemented by the income obtained from the production and marketing of coffee, an agricultural activity in the area in question.
The Rural Hostel wishes to accommodate all those visitors who wish to live a unique and different experience in a privileged natural environment, who wish to disconnect from the big cities and who wish to get closer to the customs and culture of the community of Polo, located 38 km from the city. from Barahona. The tourist offer offered is aimed at “backpacker” visitors or backpackers who travel the country in search of different and economic experiences, and intend to enjoy tourism linked to the agricultural nature, mountains, rivers, coasts and lakes of the Southwestern area of the Dominican Republic, mixing in turn with the local culture, and all this in a healthy, comfortable and friendly environment.
This project combines the approach to nature with adventure and unique and It does so by proposing a comfortable and attractive price for any type of visitor who wants to come to Polo to live the experience.
