El proyecto Kahkow inicia en 2005, cuando la familia Rizek ya contaba con un siglo de experiencia en la producción de cacao fino y de aroma en la República Dominicana.

En 1998, el devastador Huracán George arremetió contra nuestra isla, destruyendo gran parte de las producciones agrícolas. Es por esto que luego de años de esfuerzos , en el 2001 iniciamos formalmente el proyecto de Asesoría Recuperación y Manejo Orgánico de Plantaciones Cacaoteras (PAROCA), con la finalidad de brindar educación y financiamiento a los diferentes productores del sector para resiembra; renovación y recuperación de las plantaciones de cacao, iniciando el manejo orgánico de las fincas vinculadas al proyecto.
