The Kahkow project began in 2005, when the Rizek family already had a century of experience in the production of fine and aroma cocoa in the Dominican Republic.
In 1998, the devastating Hurricane George hit our island, destroying much of the agricultural production. This is why after years of efforts, in 2001 we formally began the Recovery and Organic Management of Cocoa Plantations Advisory project (PAROCA), with the purpose of providing education and financing to the different producers in the sector for replanting; renewal and recovery of cocoa plantations, beginning the organic management of the farms linked to the project.
